Perfect secretary

This post is mainly to show up a very fun thing to "wear", namely Grimalkin's Deskjockey - it includes the desk, clock, filing cabinets, papers and lamp! I got it for a few Linden, but I think it is priced now. With it I am wearing a perfect outfit to play the perfect secretary, namely Ivalde's Miranda black skirt set. I got it half price during her "black items at half price" sale. I just wore the simplest of accessories with it - a Talisman pearl droplet and Serenity earrings from Second Mirage. The rose-trimmed black suede shoes, from GF Field, provide some individuality to the outfit. The hair is Bavaresi from FD in Expresso.

Priestess

That's what I feel like in this superb "Aria" gown, which was last month's group gift from Evie's Closet. It went perfectly with the hair from Sanctum that I picked up free from the Hair Fair that was on a few weeks ago. The ornaments are part of the hairstyle: very detailed and just right with a simple gown like this - no jewels needed!

Bohemian look

I had a nice time in Sari's Yarn Hunt - a beautiful, colourful sim, and the Yarn Balls were easy to find! I got these lovely pants free, and then snapped up a matching top and earrings - with change from a hundred Linden for the two items! The necklace was a bit more expensive, but went beautifully with the ensemble.

Tibetian Tapestry Pants (Yarn Hunt gift), Wilberry top and Organic Earrings: Sari's
Chakra Long Beads Necklace, Ocean: Earthtones
Vintage Floral Sandals in red and green (group gift): Baby Monkey
Light bisque-Violante skin (group gift): Ivalde

Like a butterfly

I'm afraid this outfit isn't free, but it so pretty I wanted to share it on the blog. It started with the butterfly dress: an amazingly beautiful skirt, but the accompanying pants and top were very skimpy, so not quite my style. However, when I saw the Loving dress from Punch Drunk I realised they were made for each other. I also indulged in the new hair from Kayoot. With this outfit I didn't want to overdo the jewels and I've stayed with a simple gold necklace and some favourite earrings.

Butterfly dress (skirt): AC Girls, Japan MALIBU Resort (176, 185, 21)
Loving dress(Enayla collection) (top and pants): Punch Drunk, Mischief (205, 174, 23)

Gorgeous gowns

Two lovely gowns that I picked up for no more than 1 Linden between them! Nicky Ree has put up a sumptuous red gown for a single Linden. The necklace and earrings were the freebie Earthtones items that I mentioned in my last post. I found I had a number of red gloves in my inventory, because of all the Christmas gowns I picked up, and this pair seemed to go the best. It would be a simple matter to create your own (system) gloves and colour them red, also. The hair was (only) 30 Linden

I found the black wrist rosette in a shop in Fanghammer: it and the lace gloves I'm wearing in the next photo were the shop freebie. I had visited Fanghammer to collect the free dress, which I'd seen on the feeds. With this gown, I am wearing the same hair, jewelry, tights and shoes as in my previous post.

Satin shine glitter gown - red (1 Linden): Nicky Ree, Tropical Orchid (230, 128, 30)
Ambrosia Earrings and necklace (celistia/gold) (free at this location): EARTHTONES, La Palmita (111, 174, 22)
Omen "paint the town red" gloves from their Xmas dress (no longer available)
Taiga model dress (black) (free): De Nada, Fanghammer (38, 223, 22)
Black Roses Glove and wrist rose (free): Amrita, Fanghammer (117, 7, 453)

For black dress - other items as in previous post.

Green elegance

A fairly straightforward look, based on a short but elegant dress that I picked up at a new-to-me designer. It wasn't free, but I thought reasonably priced. I accessorised it with a simple set of bangles and a more elaborate Earthtones necklace that makes the outfit special. This necklace again was not free, but I did pick up a nice freebie from a new Earthtones outlet on La Palmita (which is where a lot of these pictures were taken). I brought out my trusty GLAM tintable tights, and tinted them a pale green and just as I was wondering what hair to use, Moire Georgette dropped the Lazy Jane fatpack of hair on her group - which went with the look perfectly.

BeadsDress [green]: UnPick, Jonetsu Island (183, 122, 22)
The New Grazia Necklace gold jade: EARTHTONES, Muse (77, 170, 10) and on La Palmita (111, 174, 22)

Flower power

Sorry for the long gap - I've been on travels in RL - and I really liked my last outfit ;-)

However, when I saw this yummy retro top on the blog feeds, I realised it was time for a change. It is a group gift, and this designer just showers her group members with cute gifts! I tried a few different things with it. I thought it was rather 70s and so the flower power jeans (freebie) seemed to go rather well. Whilst I was checking the Yak and Yeti landmark, I found they had lots of good new free stuff, including the wax bangles (the larger red and coloured stack, on my right arm) worn in some pictures. There are some beautiful things, and their Indian-themed main store is a nice place to visit in itself.

When exploring the star festival skyboxes on the Isle of TranquilityI found a set of discounted skirts from Naughty, which were also in the right bohemian style, and green one toned well with the top. I wore some leggings underneath. In most of the photos I'm wearing "Morgan" hair, but in one of the pictures below I have on the Big Bomb hair that was a lucky chair prize a while ago.

I changed the bangles about - on my left arm I wore the Baby Monkey freebie (above right) to start with and then substituted a (non-freebie) Jade bangle. Worn in all the photos are the circle pendant from Persona and green wedge shoes - neither were free but both good value and I find they go with lots of outfits.

A number of the photos were taken in one of the very pretty skyboxes (designer Aya's), by the way, and some of the others in Yak&Yeti.

OHANA-KnitTubetop (green): Pig'sKick group gift

Tropical skirt (green): NAUGHTY, Isle of Tranquility (43, 145, 26)

Dark enchantment

More dark enchantments in the latest freebies. I still can't decide whether I most like the long skirt (which moves delightfully) from Seldom Blue or the shorter skirt which is part of a gift on the new Beauty Avatar sim. The short skirt has a lovely kimono-fabric design. The hair wasn't advertised as a freebie, but the "colour demos" do not have "demo" attached to them, so they are actually usable freebies. There are 3 styles in the demos, and this was my favourite.

Top from Madison gift no. 1: Madison's creations, Mogwa (94/220/91)
Shorter skirt - from girl's gift: Beauty Avatar, World of Beauty (127/158/24)
Longer skirt - from Petra gown: Seldom Blue, Riddings (27, 15, 119)

Cold even though it's spring!

This outfit mostly isn't free, but it incoporates good value items. I bought the dress in the Icing sale some time ago but somehow hadn't got round to blogging it - partly because of the "system skirt disappears" problems there have been! It is a classic little black dress and beautifully textured. Since winter seems to have returned where I live, I've topped it with a snug jacket I picked up in the German Fashion festival. I didn't actually realise how much prim there was til I put it on. I'm a bit cautious about prim jackets - they can look very bulky - but the pattern on this one works nicely. I wanted something to fill the neckline, and this cameo necklace (from a very reasonably priced pack of four) just needed some positioning to attach to the chest (so I could wear it at the same time as the prim collar and hood). The hair is a new cute freebie from Moonshine, and the shoes and stockings are regular freebie favourites. With this outfit I really appreciated how the shoes shine.

The cut of the dress is so nice that I also photographed it without the jacket, adding a chunky set of bangles and trying a different necklace.

Blue checkered jacket: Vacano & Stine , Horns of Hattin (69, 120, 83)
Femme en noir dress (also includes brooch, not pictured) : Icing, Mischief (126, 167, 27)
Elisa black pearl earrings: Second Mirage (no longer available)
Cameo necklace: Saya , SakuraTown (58, 239, 32)
Elise2 black Mary janes (freebie in store ): Tesla, Tesla (42, 79, 54)
Tintable tights: G.L.A.M. ,Viva La Glam (76, 180, 24)
Lizbet hair in Raven: Moonshine, Silver Lake (38, 206, 27)

Gold bracelet: Aya, Atelier AM, niQue soil (212, 160, 38)

Peacock theme

I had been wanting to find an outfit to go with my Hera earrings for some time - and then I heard about the freebies at Cherry and tp-ed over. I did pick up a few nice dollarbies and freebies (in particular, some "python" tights and a couple of bangles) but I also spotted this dress for only 100 Linden, and thought it would go very nicely with the earrings. I added some leggings that I'd picked up in the Retrology Mother's Day hunt, and Baby Monkey provided the shoes as usual! Another freebie at Cherry was the birthday cake hat, pictured below!

Green onepiece: Saya - bought at Cherry, CHERRY (207, 17, 21)

Metallic

This simple outfit was built around the pretty Mimikri cardigan that is free for a while. It is a metallics look with a twinkle of colour added by the funky earrings. The trousers, being by Last Call, are no longer available, but I loved the luxurious look they gave the outfit.

Orange Fantasy

There seems to be losts of orange around at the moment and I combines elements from three outfits for this bubbly look. The skirt really emphasises the wiggle when you walk! I must mention the earrings: they come with several different stones and I wear them lots - originally a group gift, they are still a freebie in Talisman's exellent instore freebie area.

Thinking of summer

Woke up to snow this morning, so the summery top that was dropped today by LeeZu Baxter was very welcome. I added glitter with the recent Pixeldolls freebie and some extra style with some low cost Baby Monkey shoes that match a former BM group gift bag. I was sad to see Second Mirage go, I'm afraid you won't be able to buy the Morah turquoise set any more! However Yak & Yeti did in fact have a similar set of earrings with their free goodies.

Cream lace

This was fairly simple to put together as I got both the lovely Seldom blue gowns free and decided to use the pink opaque underskirt with the cream dress for a slightly different look. I rooted through my Valentine's day jewellery to find something pink to go with it!

Joys of spring

More pretty spring items! I bought the blossom set cheap in the Bossa Nova sale (on til Bossa Nova closes to reopen under a new name) and I thought the Baby Monkey tulip top looked very pretty through the semi-sheer blossom top. The skirt is just cute! I teamed it with pretty pink earrings and some of the Yak and Yeti freebie jewels. The sash isn't free, but I think is really good value - these sashes are excellent for bridging the gap between pants and shirt layer and this one happened to match the other greens very well.

Blossom set in green (sale item; top on shirt layer plus pants): Bossa Nova, Amour (184, 59, 27)
Bougainvillea skirt (from outfit, currently free): xand's Kick & Twirls, DreamCatchers, Vinca Island (205, 35, 31)

Spring looks

Two simple looks for spring. One features the Bossa Nova Relay for Life special, the "Primavera" ("spring"!) dress. I bought it in violet, and it has a lovely gold net underskirt and gold patterning on the linen mix skirt. The other outfit has just one of the many, many items you can get free at Yak and Yeti, a linen/cotton blouse from the Natural Brown set. I thought this went nicely with the daffodil patterned skirt from MNK. In both cases I kept with simple heeled sandals and the Helios set from Schadenfreude. As you can tell, this hair (not free!) is a current favourite, fluffy but not too twee.

Natural Set brown Blouse (free): Yak & Yeti, Salzburg (182, 79, 27)
Mocca skirt (free): MNK, Americamura (34, 142, 27)
Primavera dress in violet (RFL special, still available instore ): Bossa Nova, Amour (184, 59, 27)

Blue couture

Of course I have been joining in the Haute Couture sim hunt, and featured here are two favourite finds, the Alienbear Gupte pearl set, and some attractive trousers from RFyre. I picked up the trousers' embossed patterning in a couple of articles from the freebie heaven Yak & Yeti, and a wardrobe staple, the Pixeldolls belt. I thought it matched the blouse & mantra bracelet really well. Baby Monkey is really generous with gifts and this demin set of shoes and bag finished the outfit off nicely. A nice combination to relax in without feeling dowdy or messy.

Hot springs in Cherry Blossom season

Like everyone else I've been visiting the new Aoharu sim, and as well as a complete free kimono, I also got some freebie "samurai" items, which included a cute pink set of which this is the top, and cool headbands. The outfit's skirt was fluffy, but a bit short for me, and I spent a long time trying to find a skirt that toned with the top. I thought this combination was girly and I love these deep pink colours. I tried various bits of jewelery, but it looked too cluttered with a necklace and I kept to earrings with glittery pink flowers, which you can just see under the Zero Style hair which is my new favourite. I took the pictures in the Tennoz Isle sim, which has some realistic-looking Japanese streets, a tour car and some hot springs (BTW I know you wouldn't normally be wearing clothes in the springs ;-)

Top from Samurai sword ohka set (free): AOHARU, AOHARU (110, 124, 23)
SamuraiSword Hachimaki (headband) for Ladies in pink (free): AOHARU, AOHARU (110, 124, 23)
Sossy's flower pants (pants layer), part of Sossy's Pink Belle set (think I got it free, but it is now 49 Linden for the set, which is still good value): Sossity - Craigh na Dun, Trance (230, 80, 35)
Chiffon set in Rose (skirt and underpants layer) (free): Bis-Daisy, Ueno (51, 200, 22)

Relay for Life

With the current Relay For Life charitable fair going on, I thought it was time to dip into my pocket for some clothes and not just snap up the freebies. I visited the Rezzable sims with Sheila Yoshikawa, and these are snapshots of some of our purchases.

I went for this warm coat, but defied the weather with a tiny skirt and opaque tights. The smooth updo I tried first didn't go with the skirt, it needed something a bit more outrageous, so I wore the Big Bomb hair again. It sort of competes with the fur collar, and I certainly wouldn't wear this everywhere, but I thought it was a fun look.

Sheila already had this Icing dress in blue, and so knew immediately she wanted the red version. The bangles are from a very full set (including dress, necklace and shoes) which is also a RFL special.

Sheila is wearing
Azalea sunset dress: *ICING* at Mischief Cove, Mischief (130, 157, 23) (In the Spring section at the RFL fair: Rezzable Design)

It's still cold

This outfit started with the fur trimmed gloves, as I picked them up free the other week in my visit to niQue soil. They required a coat or jacket, I thought, and I happened to have been browsing in the Frangipani clothes shop and discovered the upstairs section where there are LOTS of good things at 30 or 50 Linden. That's where I bought the leather jacket and the jeans: also some nice khaki linen trousers that I might blog another time. For the shirt I used the top from an old LZB dress. However, I also considered one of the colourful silk tops from the freebie collection that is still available from Pixeldolls, in their main store: essentially I was looking for something that picked up the red of the carnation and didn't clash with brown. The hair shown here is Bavaresi, but the ensemble looked good with Frangipani's dollarbie "Grace" hair, which comes with a hat.

Brown fur gloves (freebie): Atelier AM, niQue soil (212, 160, 38)
Leather brown blazer: FD Womens & Mens Clothing, Iladil (138, 39, 71)

Green-ness

I was going to ignore St Patrick's day - but with all that freebie green newness it's difficult. I've solved the problem by getting my friends Zoe, Sheila and Haruki to do the green thing instead.

Haruki has opted for a basic t-and-jeans look: except he's green. He didn't want to spend all day flying round the grid looking for green trousers for men, so he ended up with girl trousers: can anyone really tell the difference? He thought not. But why oh why aren't there better freebies for guys?

Zoe chose the lovely Sparkle Skye/ Alienbear Gupte combination of dress and jewelery, especially as she's part fairy. She also likes the hair that is named after her (not really, but nice to think so!), especially as it only costs a dollar! She is doing the Irish jig animation which was a group gift from Fluky.

Sheila is a high prim girl so she paid for her outfit: it was called "Sheila" (well, a version of Sheila)so she couldn't resist it. It seemed to cry out for mermaid hair so that's what she wore.

Zoe is wearing
Tintable tights: GLAM, Viva La Glam (76, 180, 24)

LeeZu Baxter

I attended the opening of the revamped LeeZu Baxter store. Many lovely items - including some freebies! They included a colour-change hair flower (which I had to reposition for my Big Hair) and this SatinLeave dress. There are gold snaky arm ornaments on the shirt layer (not shown) and a system skirt rather than glitch pants. As I'm not very keen on system skirts I substituted the pants from the Ivalde golden dress that I showed a while back. I think there are a variety of leggings or glitch pants that would look OK with this dress - basically as long as they are in toning colours and with some sort of pattern or texture that complements the skirt.

One of the nice things about a number of LZB dresses, including this one, is the multiple skirt layering, with floaty panels in clear colours. The photos were all taken in the new (to me) sim of niQue soil, which is where I found the gold bangle, reasonably priced at 60 Linden, at Atelier AM. I thought the grunge feel of this corner of the sim was a nice contrast to the glam dress.

Color Change Flower (freebie): LeeZu Baxter Designs, To the nines (156, 128, 22)
SatinLeave flexi dress (freebie): LeeZu Baxter Designs, To the nines (156, 128, 22)

Big hair

Having waited around for the BP* "lucky chair" big hair, it took me a while to work out what to wear with it. I thought that a low-cut glittery mini dress that I'd just picked up as a freebie at Pixeldolls would be good, but in the end I just felt the combo was a bit too sluttish.

In the end I found this dress from bijou in my inventory: I think it was a freebie at Christmas time, though unfortunately they don't seem to have any freebies up for grabs in the store now. I decided to go for an elegant/boho look. The leggings and boots weren't freebies, though for the leggings you could substitute the free GLAM tintable stockings I (and everyone) have blogged before.

The Helios necklace set is very striking and still available for free. I spent ages combing my inventory for the right bag, and to my surprise ended up with this one from the "Jill" box, that box of stuff for newbies that you can pick up at Calla and at many locations round the grid. It was mod, so I tinted the decorations to tone with the boots and the handle to tone with the dress. I could have changed the basic texture, but liked the straw look as it chimed in with the bangle and the general boho element.

I wanted a setting for some of the photos, so I went to the "British Invasion" exhibition in Infotainment island's Museum of Music.

Bettiepage Voyager Big Bomb Hair (lucky chair): BP*, Osaka (154,147,21)

Boho bracelet: Caroline's Jewelry, Lo Lo (103, 232, 23) These no longer freebies, but are still quite reasonable at 50 Linden; there were also some nice wooden bangles for 30 Linden.
Classy Bag from the free "Jill" box: at Calla and other places round the grid.
Another Fundraiser skin "Passion": Nuclear Boutique
Tainted Spring boots in gold (worn without the legging parts): Fuel, Arias Requiem (142, 54, 307)

Pride of peacocks

You may have seen the "burlesque" freebie peacock outfit blogged. As soon as collected it I was impressed with the softness and detail of the feathers and it struck me that it would go sumptuously with a group gift from Evie's Closet a while back, the Forest dress. I just used the "derriere" and head feathers from the burlesque costume, adjusting them a little upwards in the case of the back ones and downwards in the case of the head dress (to frame my face more).
I am using all the pieces of the Forest dress. It took me a while to find a necklace - it needed to be something fairly bold and elaborate and in the end I thought this Shiny Things "Wood Elf" necklace fitted the bill. It is actually on the shirt level, rather than made of prims. It is one of the excellent Shiny Things freebies at the Gnubie store. The other jewelry and shoes were all group or advent gifts but should be available as priced items now.

Curlicue

Black and red seem to be my favourite colours. I am blogging the second of my purchases in the Icing sale: Curlicue. I am just wearing the skirt and glitch pants (there's also a cream blouse): the skirt has a net overskirt with dark embroidery, and a silken underskirt. Just lovely, and sets the tone for a delicate, elegant look.
I am wearing the skirt with a vintage silk shirt that I picked up, soon after I rezzed, for about 40 Londen and one the Pixeldolls belts that was given out as a Group gift. I think it won't be in notices any longer, but they are for sale in the store. The same goes for the jewelry (well, it was an advent gift)
The red bag was a Valentine's group gift (as in my last post) and there are lots of other nice colours in the shop. I got the shoes as a Valentine's freebie too - the white diamond version of these are free in the Tres Beau shop.
BTW, while I was checking that the Zoe hair was still a dollarbie at Frangipani (it is), I saw they have 2 more dollarbie styles - Kylie and Kira - available in all colours.
Skirt from Curlicue dress : Icing, Mischief (126, 167, 27)
Hobo Bag - Patent Cherry (group gift: still in the Notices if you join): Celestial Studios, Celestial City, (67, 240, 27)

Zoe in expresso (dollarbie): Frangipani Designs, Iladil (95, 57, 71)

Vintage grey blouse: love.love.love - used to be in Mischief, and I haven't tracked them down yet....

High prim in harlequin

Another blog on the Digit Darkes skirts, this time in pink. This outfit was inspired by seeing the challenge for outfits including the Shop Seu tights (see the Michami Style Blog at http://michami.net/blog/2008/02/18/quick-dirty/). Harlequin tights said "ballet" to me, so that was a good excuse for the skirt, with a ballet wrap top and shoes. I decided not have too much jewelry - it might catch in the tulle as you danced around.
Ballet dancers have to work hard, so here I am in the training room in Spirit, practising at the barre and working out, and then performing on the Spirit dance theatre.

Tulle skirt in pink: Digit Darkes, Addictive (82, 137, 22)
Taitsu taight tights in blue: Shop Seu, Shimokitzawa (190, 82, 27)
Top from Elizabeth (Orchid): Last Call, Dazzle
Ballet wrap sweater in Dusk: Pedalpusher Designs, Linji (110, 229, 72)
Glass chunk double bracelet - retromix: Shiny Things, Shiny Falls (167, 173, 37)
Carollin earrings in silver/snow: Earthtones, Muse (90, 165, 108)
Ballet slippers in deep purple:Sparkle Skye, ImagineNation (222, 213, 23)
Indigo eyes: Miriel, Nouveau (116, 201,23)
Ryuuzaki hair in purple: Kin, Eventide Far East (165, 209, 45)

High prim in red

Dimitrova concentrates on free/cheap clothes which are mostly low in prims. However, unless I'm going to a crowded event, I am happy to pile on the prims, and you don't get much higher prim than the tulle skirts from Digit Darkes, at a whopping 160 prims per garment. But I love them. I was hoping they would be in the recent half price sale so I could buy yet more colours: they weren't, but I bought another colour anyway ;-)

This is the skirt in Blood, and I've worn it with Battered Boudoir opaque tights (so you just get a glossy sheen where they peek through) and the top from the free Ghost! valentine dress (which I haven't listed below since you can't get it any more), under a distinctive red knitted top from Kurotsubaki. The necklace is also one of my favourites; Yummy's "Together" with its two red dollies hanging from a chord. The flowers are from the Heart garden centre (look at the size of those daffodils!!).

Tulle skirt in Blood: Digit Darkes, Addictive (82, 137, 22)
Indigo eyes: Miriel, Nouveau (116, 201,23)
Together necklace: Yummy! at Caribe, Lions Shore (94, 85, 23)

Holiday Confetti

I bought a couple of good-value items in the Icing sale a while back and hadn't blogged them yet. The top and leggings are the Icing "Confetti" outfit: it was L$100 when it was half price. Some of the other things were Valentine freebies: the hair, bag, bangles and choker. Both the shoes and the bangles are colour change: a good wide range of colours for the shoes. The glasses are dollarbies from Oasis, and there are several colours on offer. I got the hat there too, at L$30, for when the sun just gets too strong.

Time's arrow

I've tried not to chase all the Valentine freebies, but am wearing a few here: namely jacket top and sunglasses from the La Reina hunt and a quiverful of pretty pink arrrows from 'Ookami Ningen. The skirt was bought a while ago and picks up the aubergine hue. Other items were dollarbies or freebies at the time - which was only a week or so ago ;-)

The pictures were taken in the Pillow Talk shop which is up in the clouds (you can buy clouds there, too, and that little blue bird)

Retro Grandma

When I visited Grandma! for the free apron, I couldn't resist this 50 Linden retro shirt, since red and black are favourite colours. I knew it would go with this full red skirt (with fluffy white petticoat) that I got as a Christmas freebie from Bossa Nova. Though this isn't available now, Bossa Nova still has plenty of full skirts, and Ivalde also has similar items. I wanted to keep the look simple, so I just added black pearl earrings and the white pearly hair jewels that came free with the Calla Sages pack.

Pinks

I decided to play round some more with the Grandma! apron, since it's such a pretty pattern. Firstly I wore it with the top from the free Amor dress and the flowered leggings from the Marzipan's closet Monica suit. I added a pink flowered headband from Decollage and in all the photos I'm wearing the dollarbie Bavaresi hair in the colour Candy.
Secondly I took off the apron top and wore the apron skirt with the top and leggings from the Ingenue set "Pink Hawaiian" (a patterned halter neck with plain pink leggings). The heart necklace and earrings (just seen) and the shoes are also part of the free valentine's Amor set.

I tried various tops and skirts with the Amor dress, but to be honest it looked better kept as a set. Therefore my second set of pictures has the 50s scripted skirt from the set, plus the glitch pants and top; to add a personal touch I wore Honey Kitty's strawberry camisole underneath, to give a lace edge to the neckline, and the valentine stockings I just got dropped as fashion Consolidated gift from pop feel. The cherry brooch was also a freebie from Ingenue, and I'm sitting in the Ingenue shop (the lady in black, on the left, is part of the decoration!) I don't usually think it's a good idea to match the upholstry, but here it seemed the more pink the better.

So cute!

I wasn't going to blog again today - but this is so cute! Grandma! has moved to a new shop which is fitted out as a bookshop, with the clothes hung around by the shelves. There is a wonderfully cute freebie: an apron, a pink feather duster for dusting books, and a pile of books. Top of the pile is a Haruki Murakami book, one of my favourite authors ;-)
All the other clothes are as in my previous post. Grandma!'s new location is in Broadmead (104,135,34)

Watch and glow

I wanted to work out another outfit for my favourite Virginie trousers. I tried it with a couple of gold-coloured tops and this was what I liked best: the shirt part of the Love Cupcakes dress that I got as a freebie at their shop a while ago. I added a triple necklace that was an advent gift from Second Mirage and also a nice watch with a gold face and caramel strap that was part of a Muse gift set. This set used to be free in a CSI NY sim, but I had a fly round what is left of the CSI sims and it looks like the freebie fashion items aren't there any more ;-(

I was also going to use the Digit Darkes gold freebie shoes yet again, but as you may have noticed there have been inventory problems in SL and I found that the folder for these shoes was mysteriously empty. Then when I went and got another pair, they refused to rez into my inventory. So I'm afraid I gave up and treated myself to a pair of not-at-all-free gold boots from Fuel.

Gunmetal breeches from Virginie set : Last Call, Dazzle (56, 216, 35)

Glam pink

I did photos of this outfit a week or so ago, but didn't blog them for some reason. However it's turned out for the best, since when I bought the dress it was on sale in limited edition to support a charity. Now it's out as a group gift to celebrate the Fashion Consolidated group rez day, so if you sign up to the group quickly you can retrieve it from the Notices list for free (so that makes all the jewelry and clothes pictured here free).

I made it just a little less glam with the lacey cardigan, and kept the accessories simple as I think the dress is sparkly enough on its own. An elegant updo seemed to go nicely. The first picture is taken in Wales. The second was taken in Thetron Three, in the detailed recreation of a theatre: it was taken before I decided elegant was the way to go with the dress.
Glam rock in Pink (for Susan Komen): Punch drunk, Mischief.

Glamour in the morning

I got this dress second hand a while back and have been waiting to blog it. To me it says "garden party with the Queen." It's a system skirt but it seems to work with this outfit, with the fun little feathery bustle.
If you buy it new the outfit comes with a pair of really nice shoes, but the person who passed it on had snaffled those, so I'm wearing it with the freebie Sadie shoes by Zhao. I bought this hat in the closing down sale that Mercury had - it cost 10 Linden. Afraid it's not available any more, but hopefully they will open up again soon. I finished it off with a set from Muse that was originally a group gift and a simple pearl bracelet.

The skin is one of the "Another Fundraisers" skins: Passion by Nuclear Boutique.
